Pending legal review
This document is structurally complete but has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer in the launch market. Review is a launch gate, not a formality: entry fees plus prize pools attract contest and gaming regulation.

What Meta data Trendeen collects, why, how long it is kept, who processes it, and how to delete your account.
1. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run a competition you chose to enter: who you are, which account you are competing with, and how the post you entered performed.
- Identity from your Facebook or Instagram sign-in: name, profile picture, and — for Facebook — your verified email address.
- Connected account details: handle, display name, follower count, account type.
- Post metadata for posts you enter: caption, publish time, media type, and the Meta-hosted media URL.
- Aggregate insight metrics for entered posts: views, likes, comments, shares, saves and reach.
- Payment records for entry fees, prizes and withdrawals.
- Technical data needed for security: session identifiers, IP address and user agent.
2. Meta data & permissions
When you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram account we receive, with your authorisation and on a read-only basis: your profile name and handle, follower count, account type, and — for posts you enter into a competition — views, likes, comments, shares, saves and reach.
We do not receive or store your messages, we never publish on your behalf, and we do not store copies of your photos or videos. Media shown in Trendeen is loaded from Meta's servers.
| Data | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Profile & handle | Identify you on leaderboards | Until deletion |
| Post metrics | Score competition entries | Life of the result |
| Access tokens | Read insights on your behalf | Until you disconnect |
| Payment records | Entry fees, prizes, payouts | Statutory period |
3. Lawful basis
- Contract — running the competition you entered, scoring it, and paying prizes.
- Consent — reading insights from your connected accounts, which you grant at connect time and can revoke at any time.
- Legal obligation — retaining financial records for the statutory period.
- Legitimate interests — detecting inauthentic engagement so results are fair to everyone who paid to enter.
4. How we use it
To compute your score from growth relative to your baseline, to rank you against other entrants, to pay prizes into your wallet, to detect coordinated or purchased engagement, and to notify you about your own entries.
We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use your data to train models sold to third parties.
6. Retention
- Profile and connected-account data: until you delete your account.
- Access tokens: until you disconnect the account, or immediately on deletion.
- Metric snapshots backing a settled result: retained with the result, because a published leaderboard must stay reconstructible.
- Financial records: retained under a pseudonymous identifier for the statutory period.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your data in a portable format, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Write to legal@trendeen.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Deleting your account
Self-service deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We revoke our access to your Meta accounts immediately and complete the deletion within 30 days. Settled competition results are retained with your entry shown as a removed creator — deletion must not rewrite the outcome of a competition other people entered.
